The College of Fine Arts Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram is the prime institution in the state in fine arts education, was established in 1888 by the erstwhile Maharaja of Travancore and has been functioning under the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala, The examinations are conducted and the degree is awarded by the University of Kerala

The College offers the Masters degree in painting and Sculpture, primarily for the graduate in Fine Arts with specialization in Painting and Sculpture. MFA is basically a studio bound course with theoretical studies in art history and aesthetics.
